About our Firm

Our History
The firm began in 1983 when Bill Caton founded William D. Caton, CPA in Las Colinas. In 1985, Pam Carroll joined the practice, and Carroll, Caton & Associates was formed. In 1989 a merger with another regional firm brought Craig Greenway in as a shareholder. The company has been in the Urban Center of Las Colinas since its inception, and has been involved in the development of the area through the Irving Chamber of Commerce, the Irving Symphony Orchestra, the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club, the Las Colinas Country Club, the Las Colinas Sports Club and the Las Colinas Women's Association.

Our firm participates in the Peer Review program prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Our shareholders are members of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and/or the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mission Statement
Since all shareholders have Big 4 experience, we combine the expertise of a large firm with the personal attention that only a small firm can provide. We work hard to develop long-term relationships with our clients, whether their needs are simple or complex.

Our Team

William D. Caton, CPA

Bill Caton was born and reared in the Piney Woods of East Texas. He graduated from Baylor University in 1976, earning a B.B.A. in Accounting. While at Baylor, Bill was elected to membership in Beta Alpha Psi, the honors society for accounting students, where he served as President of the fraternity. He received his CPA certificate while working for Touche Ross & Company (now Deloitte and Touche) in Dallas. After three years in the audit department, Bill transferred to the tax department where he achieved the level of Tax Manager. After four years of developing his tax skills, he started his own practice in 1983 in the Urban Center of Las Colinas. He currently serves as President of Carroll, Caton & Greenway, P.C.

Bill has been a pilot since earning his Private Pilot’s Certificate while still in Baylor. He has an instrument rating and enjoys flying his 1981 A36 Beechcraft Bonanza.

Bill serves on various boards both locally and on the Finance Committee at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas. He is a charter member of the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club, which was formed in 1987. He is currently serves as President – Elect of the Rotary Club and will be President in the 2011-2012 Rotary year. He is Past President and former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Las Colinas Country Club and has also served as the Chairman of the Golf Council.

Bill has one daughter, Lauren Caton Bellomy, who graduated from law school at The University of Texas Law School in 2007 and currently is a Legal Editor with Jones McClure Publishing in Houston, Texas.

In addition to flying, golf is one of his greatest loves. On May 29, 2004, Bill had his first hole-in-one, and is currently working on number two. Please feel free to contact him through his email address.

Craig M. Greenway, CPA/PFS, CFP
Craig holds a BBA in Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He has worked in the public accounting sector for twenty-five years focusing in taxation. Since 2000, he has gained a significant amount of experience in personal financial planning as well as wealth management. Executives, professionals, closely held businesses and their owners, trusts and partnerships are the majority of his client base. He is a member of the AICPA and the Financial Planning Association.

Currently he is a member of the board of directors of the Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic and The University of Texas at Austin Department of Accounting Advisory Council. He is active in his Rotary Club and with The Dallas Foundation. In the past twenty years he has been on numerous civic, charitable, religious and educational boards and councils as well.

Craig has been married to his wife, Pam, since 1981. They have two children, Drew (22) and Megan (19) and live in Carrollton. They both enjoy sports, music and their place in the Texas Hill Country.
